Toribio was homeless and sleeping in the park, having been kicked out of her mother's home and a friend's apartment in the days before her son's death because she was ignoring the boy and withholding affection, investigators said.

Let me get this straight... you think she's not taking care of the child... so you kick her out to be HOMELESS... WITH the kid you think she's not caring for?!?

At the very least, these bastions of compassion and child welfare need to be charged as accessories.

I saw this yesterday. it's sickening that people will see things happening, but not do anything. I really think this could have been prevented.
