from RSJM:
Christian religion, as I understand it, is about people who know they
are screwed up and admit it. But they still screw up. And some, like
Dax, may never stop screwing up and may die because of it. But it's not
about conquering that mistake. It's about the fight to conquer it. God
loves them anyway and they know it. And they want to stop screwing up.
And they try and try and try.
So, while I realize "religious
people" are judged differently, I'm not sure they should be. Christians
don't claim to be better - or at least shouldn't. We just claim to be
as bad as everyone else, but we admit it and understand that God loves
us despite it. And that alone is what makes us want to act differently
and to live better. And sometime we succeed and sometimes we fail.
